| Reminder: Dear friends, clients and those
who just have an interest in gold mining! It's been a banner year for our 3&4 day gold mining trips at our Grants Pass, Oregon mine!!! Nearly all our clients who filled our trips this year were returning for more. Jim (our cook) has done a really great job with the menu and he has added in some very nice desserts! He has also been great with operating the backhoe to get that paydirt needed! Paul has done a great job with instruction and setup on the larger equipment we have acquired. This Spring we started off where we left last year both highbanking and dredging and continued the paydirt for another 35 yrds. The gold was good with several large nuggets and clean-outs exceeding 1/4 oz each. We then opened up a new location thought to be good and it turned out GREAT. We will not be surprised if we take several oz. this weekend. It's the most productive ground per yard we've had in 6 years! Our Labor-Day trip begins on Thursday night with 7 guests (never more than 8) and the cabin will have empty beds since several people decided to take the $100. discount for bringing a tent. We expect, however, the evening to be cool since we are at a higher elevation. We'll likely have a bon fire again and tell those same stories about the history of our property dating to 1867. We hope to have more information on the history by next year since we have hired a historian to do some investigating for us. With the information we have already, it should give her a head start! Hopefully some day we'll have enough to write a good book, especially if we can get more of the same accounts of the stories we have information about already. Nevertheless, what else is new. Well, running water is new, we are close to having a hot water shower! Johns eyesight is getting worse, Paul is craving finding another rich pocket with the dredge and I'm anxious to keep digging into the deposit we hit on the 4th of July with some clients wishing to highbank. Values have been better than 1/4oz per yard there and our clients love it when the gold can be picked out of the carpet after running for only 1/2 hour! We can set up the equipment and then leave only to hear about the findings at the next meal. We love it too because we think the area may be large. This area is obviously never been touched and is truely virgin. It appearance is like concrete, molded with fist sized bolders and damn hard to break up. Spring started out with a bang also as the hard rock mine let off its annual dynamite blast up the road. We haven't heard anything since! We'll have probably 1 more trip this year in October and then we will start up again for you in May next Spring. Thanks to all our friends and customers for making this a really, really great year. We learned much about you and appreciate the time spending here digging and dredging for gold. We'll see you again next year. Best Regards, Gold Prospecting Enterprises, llc Oregon Gold Trip Dave Rutan, Jim Demmings, Paul Craig, John Jakeways |
