Growing Havana Tobacco in Oregon !!
If you like Fresh Cigars from The Finest Tobacco, you Can do it Too...

Tobacco in Oregon you ask??
Yes, tobacco can grow in Oregon, and grow well. This is the second year I have done it.
Growing it is the easy part, just remember, it grows fast, and gets big so it need lots of fertilizer and water go reach its full potential.
Curing is the most important part, and that is hard to find good information on as all the pros keep this a close guarded secret.
Rolling the cigars itself is not too hard, but takes lots of practice. Hopefully this year I will get better, and you will get to see it all here.

The babies are here..

On their way to become Cigars..

I love baby pictures..

They are Growing !!

Still Growing !!!

And Still Growing...

Some of the Crop Curing.

Several Months Later, Cured Tobacco.

Ready to Start Rolling.

Trimming the Binder.

Cutting the Filler in long Strips.

Trimming the Wrapper.

Going into the Press.

Trimmed and out of the Press

With the Wrapper on, Ready to Age.
Much better than last year, my rolling and the tobacco crop.
It's going to take a long time to be a "Pro" cigar roller, I learned how to put a cap on the end !!!
Getting the leaves the right moisture before rolling is very important,
We will see in a month or so when these have aged a bit. I harvested enough tobacco this year to make 50 or 60 cigars, I think.
When I'm done rolling, I'll let you know.
This is like our beer brewing, It's more fun and much better doing this yourself.
Have fun, and if you have any questions, or advice, e-mail me with your thoughts.
